THE GHOSTS OF TOOWONG CEMETERY: Brisbane's Necropolis was launched with much ceremony at Toowong Cemetery the Saturday prior to Halloween by Hilda McClean of The Friends of Toowong Cemetery. As the sun set behind Queensland's greatest graveyard readers queued to have their new copies signed by author Jack Sim.
The night was topped off by a series of special Ghost Tours in honour of the new release.

The Pre-release Launch of DEATH BEFORE DISHONOUR: The Crime That Broke Brisbane's Heart, by Alicia Bennett at the Brisbane Writers Festival was a memorable event with both the families of both victim, Bronia Armstrong, and accused, Reginald Wingfield Spence Brown, attending the ceremony. The book was launched by noted pathologist Dr John Tonge who recalled the details of his work on the case before those attending.
The official launch was held a fortnight later outside the formed BAFS institute in Albert Street Brisbane. A few words were spoken by Detective Stewart Kerr's wife about the crime.

The buzz around WHO KILLED BETTY SHANKS? Brisbane's Greatest Murder-Mystery is still strong. On Tuesday 3 April 2007, the 7.30 Report aired interviews with Ken Blanch, Detective Scott Knowles and Des Sturgess regarding this case. It seems that this 50 year old case might be about to be cracked open. Information was taken to the police by Ken Blanch after he made the discovery researching his latest release THE TAXI DRIVER KILLER: The Southport Murder.

Brisbane's Greatest Murder-Mystery hundreds around Brisbane turned into amateur sleuths as they tried to solve the fifty year old mystery of who killed Betty Thompson Shanks. We have received many letters from you all with your various suggestions of who the murderer might be. And it seems that with all of this extra scrutiny, what may be a major breakthrough in the case has occurred.
Channel Ten News recently interviewed Ken Blanch as well as Detective Inspector Scott Knowles about Betty Shanks' murder, which aired on Wednesday 24 January 2007.
