The VALLEY INFERNO

This week on Classic Crime Jack looked at the fire-bombing of the Whiskey Au Go Go nightclub in Fortitude Valley 1973.

15 people were killed by the fire that engulfed the club. Three days later John Andrew Stuart and James Finch were arrested for the crime. Neither of the men admitted having been involved with the bombing and reported being verballed by police to get a confession.

This case is covered in the Murder Trails Crime Compendium BLOODY BRISBANE: Murder in the River City.

Jack Sim is currently researching material for an upcoming book on this case. If you have any information click here.

Jack also mentioned an article from the Sunday Mail which discussed John Andrew Stuart being involved with another murder-mystery. For more details on the article click here.
